In collaboration with leading national health organizations, the NFL launched PLAY SAFE!, a unique youth football education series designed to provide coaches, players, and parents with user-friendly, football-specific health and safety information. This four-part series includes comprehensive information on first aid, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and psychological health.

Prior to the start of the season there will be a series of mandatory meetings for the entire coaching staff. The goal of these meetings is to ensure that all coaches understand the philosophy and playbook used by the Edmonds Woodway Warriors.

Youth Sports Research Council
The Youth Sports Research Council was founded in 1983. It is a division of the Department of Exercise Science and Sports Studies at Rutgers University. The YSRC develops, synthesizes, and disseminates scientific research about the influence of physical activity and organized sports on the healthy development of children and adolescents. Our award-winning educational programs are designed for recreation directors, coaches, parents, and administrators of youth sports leagues.
NFL Coaching Academy Playbook
In 2003 the NFL and the National Football Foundation teamed up to elevate the quality of coaching at the youth and high school levels with the Coaching Academy Playbook. The curriculum stresses the game's social benefits and character-building attributes, as well as the Xs and Os of football.
Proactive Coaching
Bruce Brown serves as director of Proactive Coaching, a company that conducts workshops and provides materials for coaches, athletes, parents, businesses and school districts on how to enhance their effectiveness in building teams and student-athletes of both character and competence.
